Offering quality fiber art supplies and classes.

Fiber arts are a basic part of human history and the act of creation is inherent in human behavior. At Yarn Swift! we believe that creating items of beauty, whether utilitarian or not, is a worthwhile endeavor and pursuit and that quality tools and supplies are essential for quality results. We encourage skill development and learning new techniques.

We also believe that the simple burlap bag or tow rope, like the wheel, is a marvel of creation and ingenuity and that reinventing the wheel is a pastime worth pursuing, too. Making things is a form of fulfillment in itself. We encourage all creation.

In the shop we carry spinning fibers from a range of sources including but not limited to silk, camel, flax, hemp, fresh clipped rare breeds, rough roving, fine sliver and smooth top in Merino, Alpaca, Welsh, Cotswold, and Corriedale. We have bamboo for spinning, soy silk and latte. All of these fibers can be used in papermaking, collage and feltmaking projects. Prices range from $.75 to $6 an ounce.

We sell Gaywool Dyes.

We carry Anny Blatt, Bouton d'Or, Noro, Debbie Bliss, Patagonia, Classic Elite, Crystal Palace, Cascade, Plymouth, Fiesta, Jade Sapphire, Steadfast Fibers, and others.

We are committed to carrying a wide range of needles, with Addi Turbo, Crystal Palace, Clover, Brittany, Bryspun and Susan Bates in a range of sizes from 8" circular to 4 different lengths of double pointed (5", 6", 8" and 10"). We also have double pointed needles as small as #0000.

We carry many books, magazines and individual patterns.

We have spinning and weaving equipment, including looms and wheels, by Ashford and Louet and are expanding our offerings in this area. Please call and let us know your interest.
